INTRO

Si beaucoup fantasment sur les pays du sud parce qu’il y fait beau et chaud, moi je cherche les t° modérées, les journées qui n’en finissent pas et les lumières étincelantes du nord. Après l’Islande, la Norvège, l’Ecosse, et l’Irlande, parcouru à de multiples reprises, me voici avec ma famille au Danemark pour la première fois.

Si les cerfs volants, les bottines de rando et les vélos sont avec nous, je ne peux partir sans planeur et comme vous le verrez, ce ne fut pas pour rien.

Destination le Jutland ouest, dans une maison en bordure de dune et de plage, entre Thyboron et le phare de Bovbjerg (côte ouest). Du 5 au 19 juillet pour profiter d’un climat très beau, avec personne sur les plages et les différents centres d’intérêt touristiques. Après avoir tâter la t° de la mer (18°c), les vélos sont sortis et nous voilà en communion avec la nature et tant qu’à faire à la recherche de site pour voler.

LE SITE

En dessous du phare nommé ci-dessus, se trouve une falaise de+/-50m, longue d’un petit kilomètre, orientée plein ouest (vent dominant).
Derrière cette falaise, il y a des hectares de terrains agricoles, tout ce qu’il faut pour les attéros.

LES VOLS

La première semaine fut arrosée d’un bon vent entre force 4 et 7 selon les jours. Mer très fraîches, bien agitées. Première impression en allant au bord de la falaise : le « sèche cheveux » décoiffe à ce point que je me demande si c’est bien raisonnable. Mais la tentation est trop forte et me voilà assemblant le Solution (2.7m) motorisé avec un Drive 502 de Kontronick. On pourrait se dire que le moteur n’est pas vraiment utile et bien si,… cela peut dépanner vachement.

Alors que le lancer ne peut se faire qu’avec les deux mains bien fermement serrées sur le fuselage, et la radio au coup, la suite se fait d’un coup plus simple. Voilà que cela vole gentiment tout seul dans un écoulement si stable et puissant qu’il était possible de descendre presque jusque la plage pour remonter ensuite 30m plus haut que sa tête. Dans ce fluide puissant, le plaisir est au rendez-vous et le temps passe sans que l’on n’y prête attention, dans un décor fantastique, avec des contrastes de couleurs superbes. Oui mais il est temps de recharger les accus et c’est alors que monsieur Drive 502 vient à la rescousse du pilote qui a encore bien des choses à apprendre.

LES ATTEROS

J’avais déjà remarqué les « shifts » considérables du vent derrière la falaise, jusque loin dans les prairies. Quoique connaissant les effets de rouleaux, de rabattant, je ne m’attendais pas à leur violence. Une première approche à 50m du bord a failli tourner à la catastrophe. Sans le moteur, le planeur était perdu, secoué comme un prunier, une fois en cabré à 60° puis en virage sur l’aile, ensuite en piqué, le tout en 2 secondes. Vite un coup de moteur et malgré tout, des difficultés pour quitter la zone turbulente, prise d’altitude sérieuse et attéro à 200m derrière. Et là encore ce n’était pas du gâteau. Ouf !!, pour ce jour là ce fut assez.

MES AVENTURES
( ou mésavanture ?)

Ne connaissant pas les variateurs « opto », je pensais que je pouvais compter sur les batteries de propulsion pour alimenter les servos. Et bien NON ! Il se fait qu’en cours de vol, je suis tombé en panne de « jus », plus de signal, plus de contrôle. Heureusement l’avion était en virage dos au vent, au-dessus des prairies, assez loin des falaises. Il s’est mis nez au vent comme un grand pour aller se vomir pas très élégamment dans un champ de blé. Turbulence mise à part, je crois que l’attéro aurait été pas mal sans vent. Pas de casse, mais un rapide coup de fil chez Avionic pour comprendre ma bévue. Je crois pouvoir conclure que le centrage est bon, mais la méthode de vérification l’est moins.

ET PAR PETIT TEMPS ?

Le Scorpion 2 de CCM (450gr) a volé par un gentil petit force 2 de fin de soirée. Il fallait plus de doigté et de précaution, pour ne pas devoir aller le chercher sur la plage, car le vent était « cross » (NO) mais il y avait de la réserve. Par contre, de nouveau, même avec peu de vent, les turbulences sont sérieuses.

CONCLUSION

Site de vol offrant un grand confort, accessible facilement en voiture, une lumière fabuleuse, et aucun modéliste avec qui il faut partager sa fréquence. Parfois des deltas, viennent longer la falaise en fin de soirée, ce qui est très sympa.. Un planeur bien lesté et solide pour le gros temps et un autre pour les petites brises sont à conseiller. J'ai des photos qui donnent l'eau à la bouche. Je vous les partage volontiers si vous le voulez.
